History of semi precious veneering stone
The concept of veneering gemstone & shell is not a new revelation in interior designing. The idea sprang up during the 17th century when highly skilled marble workers were trained to employ the technique of gemstone veneering to produce exotic furniture pieces and decorative objects in Florence under the patronage of Medici family.

This ancient technique is still being practiced in Aqua Imperial to produce majestic works of art, decorative objects by using gem stones like Lapis Lazuli, Malachite, Tiger Eye and Mother of Pearl.

Precious stone

Lapis Lazuli
Lapis lazuli is a precious stone prized since antiquity for its intense blue color.

Lapis lazuli has been mined in the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan for the last 6,500 years, and trade in the stone is ancient enough for lapis jewelry to have been found at Predynastic Egyptian sites, and lapis beads at neolithic burials in Mehrgarh, the Caucasus, and even as far as Mauritania.

Malachite
The word "malachite" comes from the Greek word "malakos" which means soft. Egyptians began the mining of this gemstone around 4000 BC. Once believed to ward off danger, illness, and black magic, malachite was attached to the cradles of infants and made into amulets for children by ancient Greeks.

Some spiritualists consider malachite to be a stone of transformation which will bring harmony into your life, give knowledge and patience, and release painful emotions. Some also believe malachite can bring about spiritual evolution by removing mental blocks which hinder spiritual growth. Malachite is thought by some to promote friendship, fidelity in love, and loyalty in business. Malachite is also considered to be a stone of good fortune which will bring prosperity and material abundance.

Shell –Mother of Pearl
Black mother of pearl and white mother of pearl shells are used for architectural purposes. Natural mother of pearl may be artificially tinted to almost any color. Mother of pearl tesserae may be cut into shapes and laminated to a ceramic tile or marble base. The tesserae are hand-placed and closely sandwiched together, creating an irregular mosaic or pattern (such as a weave). The laminated material is typically 1/16 of an inch thick. The tesserae are then lacquered and polished creating a durable, glossy hard surface.

Tiger eye
Some believe that Tiger Eye helps focus the mind. Others claim that Tiger Eye offers protection to travelers. Spiritualists say that Tiger Eye enhances will power, integrity, practicality, and even good luck. Some believe Tiger Eye brings prosperity, usually in the form of money, while others claim that Tiger Eye counteracts feelings of hypochondria. Physically, some believe Tiger Eye is good for asthma.
